October 15, 2007Where to start… I think I’m one of the few people (or at least the only one I know) that has played and liked Halo for its story and not its multi-player. That being said, I loved Halo 3, but have been slow on picking up the online experience. Well I finally sat down and started brawling after beating Halo 3’s story missions for a third time (yes I’m that sad). It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I’ve already settled into a groove which suits my player style, which means I know which maps to Haet and which to love. Taking into account all the kills I’ve amassed so far, I’d say about two-thirds of them are melee kills. Obviously, big maps are bad for Sota. The real fun came in the large party battles though. A sixteen man capture the flag can be fun as hell. Even my worst experience on the matchmaking was a fun one (wherein all my other teamates left the game after it started, leaving me to fight against a full team).

Is it sad that the only reason I’m interested in playing Halo 3 is because the actors who played Mal, Wash and Jayne in Firefly play cameo voice acting roles in the game?
Is it even more sad that this fact makes the game a must-have for me? =/
